Forsaking It All

ctstudd2C.T. Studd was born into a wealthy family, was well-educated, and showed promise as a professional cricketer.  He was converted to Christ while a student at Cambridge University when the evangelist D.L. Moody held a crusade there.  From then on he felt God’s call to the mission field, and in 1885 he forsook all his wealth and prestige to preach the Gospel in China, India, and Africa.

Of his life’s calling he said, “Some want to live within the sound of church or chapel bell; I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell.”
